A day after the New Years lunch feast

After the morning weigh-in, you can definitely tell yesterday was an off day. Per New Years day tradition, it was black-eyed peas, ham, soda, and lots of bread. Corn bread, biscuits. All good and tasty, and lots of carbs.

Morning weight: 289. Up 2.5 pounds from Monday morning. And back to my weight immediate weight post-Disney.

Here is some nutritional information for black-eyed peas.

Suggested serving size: 1/2 cup (See here for source)
Total carbs: 16 grams
Calories: 70 per serving
Protein: 3 grams
Fiber: 4 grams or 17% of recommended daily value

For carbs and proteins, that is slightly more than a 3-1 ratio of carbs to proteins. That ratio is still in line with what I've seen as far as a recommended carb to protein ratio for caloric intake, 50% carb to 40% protein. But when you're primary goal is to lessen your carb intake, that ratio is considered high.

What probably hurt the most for this mornings weigh-in was the soda and junk food from the New Years party.  I'm still below my pre-Disney trip weight, so I'll take it.

And it's gym membership renewal day. Who knows what will happen now....
