Making progress, finally.

When  I started this journey, it seemed like I wasn't making any noticeable progress. I would lose a pound here or there, but nothing substantial in a short amount of time. For those that struggle with their weight, that is probably one of the biggest mental hurdles we have to overcome. Sometimes, we just don't lose weight quickly enough to think the effort is worth it.

Which is why wanted to stop drinking soda. It wasn't necessarily a "I want to lose weight" New Years resolution. The soda thing was more about just making a subtle change, and not thinking I was on a "diet."

Weight, over last two weeks. Note my first weigh in.
So, as of this mornings weigh-in on the gym scale, I am at 283 pounds, which is down three pounds from my last weigh-in on that scale. My Wii Mii is down the same correlation, to 278.9. I noticed that there is about a 4-5 pound difference in the two measurements. I'm OK with that as long as the trend stays the same on both devices.

BMI, over last two weeks.
As far as the No Soda For a Year thing, it's going OK. I did have 1/2 a can of Mountain Dew Saturday afternoon, which was the first soda I had had since January 11.

On August 22, I installed a weight tracking app on my phone, Simple Weight Recorder on the Android OS. That day, I weighed 295.5. I've lost 12 pounds total, but 10 pounds since the end of October. Most of my weight loss has been in December and January when I decided that I needed to give up sodas.
