Recipe Overhaul: Hamburger Helper Chili Macaroni

Lately, we've turned into a food nation. I swear, some days that's the only thing Instagram was for: posting pictures of your dinner. News flash: If you've got some fancy, delicious looking dinner on your plate, how about telling the rest of us how to prepare it. Oh yeah. Pinterest. Never mind.

Well, today I'm going to tell you how to prepare a different type of meal.

Take your standard Hamburger Helper Chili Macaroni.

Now, don't scoff at the Helper. The five-fingered dude is pretty cool.

The overhaul for this particular recipe calls for using a pound of mild or spicy sausage, instead of the recommended pound of ground beef. The sausage gives it much more flavor, especially since, by it's nature, sausage has more seasoning than your garden variety ground beef. Paired with the chili season that it comes with, this is a tasty dish.

Make sure that you cook it down enough that the only water left in the skillet is just enough to keep the contents from sticking to the pan. It's a pasta, not a soup. Enjoy.

And one pound of sausage is generally cheaper than a pound of ground beef. You're welcome.
