So, for the first time in 15 years, or my junior year of high school, I am playing organized ball, or softball. I'm in a church league with seven teams. On our team, we have a good mix of people, young and old. I'm the catcher.
And my legs are sore.
We did have a good weekend though. We're 3-1 after our first weekend. Our two games Saturday night were both 1-run squeakers. I had some good hits both nights, couple of RBI's.
Someone is setting up a site with league info and stats available. As soon as I get the address, I'll have it linked on the right side.

When I was younger, my father played in an adult softball league, when he was probably about your age as a matter of fact.
I still remember his last game, when he came barreling around first base trying to stretch out an outfield single -- he slid into second base at full speed. Unfortunately, as he went over the bag, his ankle and right foot decided to stay behind. They carried him off the field and he never played again.
Now that I think about it, my best friend's baseball career ended on a slide as well -- this time head-first into third. The helmet hit the leg of the man covering the bag, slammed down on my friend's nose, shattering it and handing out two black eyes.
Ahh, good times. That's why I stick to Wii Sports.
My two broken ankles aren't making it easy, but it's fun.
Broke the left one while Mrs. Rocker was pregant the first time. Broke the right one last August while she was preggers with Jacob. For my health, we're not having any more kids.
